Via Dettori, 5  -  SEDILO

Paola Cocco's Bed&Breakfast POPPOLU, is situated in the town of Sedilo (province of Oristano) in the center of Sardinia, in the middle of Mediterranean Sea.

It lies in the center of the town, an old building, recently renovated, provided with all the essential services (two bathrooms, laundry, Internet sockets by the rooms, telephone, fax and TV), in the respect of a minimalist setting, typical of the sardinian tradition.

The rooms at the guest’s disposal are two. These are wide so that they can easily contain each four people, provided with a confortable bathroom.

Why staying in Sedilo? The answer may be long, but it’s simple:

  •  because Sedilo is famous in many countries for the San Costantino feast (5th to 7th July), in which the ""ARDIA"" takes place, a wild horse race in the context of a traditional religious festival, being unchanged for centuries; a proof of courage and a violent spectacle of incomparable fascination at the same time;

Ardia

  • because Sedilo is rich of historical and archaeological evidences, with a high density of monuments - nuraghe (prehistoric circular stone towers); in the fact, you can count more than 230 archaeological places, as an evidence of how its territory has been an ideal territory for each type of human settlement in the centuries;

Archeologia

  • for its pleasant countryside and its landscape in general;

Natura

 Natura

  • for its central position in Sardinia and its nearness to the two main arterial roads of the island;

  • for its mild winters and its richness of flowers in spring;

  • for the big number of town festivals and social-cultural events;

  • for its nearness to the Nuoro province, with its incomparable natural beauties and cultural events;

  • for the omnipresent horse figure, which recurs in each context, even in organized aspects, such as the membership to the regional Horse Country circuit, the presence of various horse country roads, protected by the Sardinian Forest Authority, which concerns also the territory of the neighbouring villages;

  • for the possibility of making, in a very short time, excursions to towns where you can taste very good local wines and specialties;

  • for the possibility of making trips to archaeological places all over Sardinia with local guides, and visiting natural beauties.

  • to enjoy the sound of silence.............

...and for thousands of other reasons, which you will discover.
